Re: Pulse8 for rural market 1 exchange? ADSL option differen

These are the BB packages I can get after entering my phone number, connected to a 20CN exchange ( no LLU provision)

Guess I might be staying with PN smile

If TalkTalk LLU is on the exchange...
...100 to 300 GB is pretty impressive for the old Connect product.

TalkTalk unlikely, but a a tiny chance that they might appear while work is ongoing in my area. We're certainly waiting for fibre capacity to be upgraded in my area/cabinet.

Re the usage, yep pretty much 18-24hrs per day for a long time. At least I now have my entire GOG library inc all extras on HDD. I don't entirely trust the tracker accuracy, we have had many days when it claimed usage that nobody was home, or peak time usage that is 2-3 times the max we could actually get even if wasn't crippled in the evenings :/

Any particular reason you want to leave Plusnet?
TL:DR version - degrading service and they held us to ransom over fibre upgrade when it was available.

Pulse8 very helpful on telephone, sadly they will not be able to offer fibre unless the work to fix the current 'temporary' cabinet issue is going to include TalkTalk installing their hardware. Seems unlikley, but not impossible.

Pules8 made a very good impression, not pushy and spent 15-20 minutes talking through issues. They will be expensive for me, but potentially a better option than PN in terms of extracting every last bit of available performance from the line.

I need to think on it some more. It seems it's fine to be with Pulse8 for 1-2 months and then take up BT fibre if it becomes available.

Fibre depends on what the supplier has in the exchange, not the cabinet. More importantly, it depends which exchange is the fibre head-end. If your exchange, which for some reason you don't seem to want to reveal, isn't WBC enabled, which appears to be the case, the fibre headend is at a different one. That exchange would need the relevant LLU.

Having said that, I believe Sky won't supply fibre if the phone exchange doesn't have their LLU, as it would mean the line being on WLR3 rather than their own system. (MrSaffron will know if I'm right or not).

TalkTalk's policy I expect is the same.

Oops, sorry. I forgot to thank you for that link to the screenshot.

Any chance of the URL of the page please?

WWBCKN - it was noted on my first thread here, in the fibre forum I also linked in my Plusnet service thread as well, but not this one. Juggling too many things today, and probably juggling too many sub-forums also. Serves me right for trying to keep specific questions in the most relevant section.

As for Sky -we keep being told "you're market 1, they won't supply you" but they were happy to do so before we signed the current deal with Plusnet, they have been willing to accept an order for FTTC for months since it was rolled out in our area. The sticking point now seems only to be the cabinet capacity.

Thanks. I looked in your PN thread here and must have missed it.

If samknows isn't up to date, which is common these days frown, that implies I'm wrong about yours needing to be Sky LLU for the line itself.

Sky "used" to see a connect product but I believe they have stopped selling it now...

WBC @ 4500m> TP-Link TD-W8968v3
FTTC @ 450m > HG612 > Asus RT-AC87U

Which was dreadful. Just like the TalkTalk ADSL Max one.

I think Sky have restarted the Connect though. (They did stop selling it, as you say).
