If you go with Virgin Media cable then you'll only have IPv4. There were reports VM looked at DS-Lite, but then abandoned it.

Similarly, Plusnet still only do IPv4 as far as I know. Not IPv6.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, sites and mail hosting - Tsohost & Ionos.
Connections: OnePlus 8 Pro max 165Mbps down, 24Mbps up on Three, and B311 4G, tbb tests normally 35-45Mpbs down, 65Mbps off-peak, 9-24 up.

Agreed, and there are probably many others over the Openreach last mile. I don't think Plusnet have even experimented with DS-lite however !

If I remember correctly Plusnet were considering CGNAT around 5 years or so ago, but that was dropped pretty quickly.

Instead they bought a load of US IPv4 addresses that have ever since caused issues with geo location for some users.

From time to time you hear about stories leaked to the press, especially some of the larger holdings or auctions and sales of IPv4 address blocks...I'm sure the horse trading goes on behind the scenes all the time.

Wow awesome, what a helpful community!
I have decided to go with BT Broadband, my sister is with them and shes been very happy with it. I dont have much choice in speed in my area, so this will do until I move and hopefully I can get Giganet or Virgin.

This thread can be changed to "solved" smile
