Ok thanks for explaining your thinking.

Gfast seems to perform well on TB's technical testing so I am sure you and your family will enjoy using the circuit and I'm looking forward to your reports

Thank You for your kind words

I don't know this ISP, but don't forget there is a difference between backhaul and the actual ISP network. AAISP use TalkTalk and BT Wholesale for backhaul but run their own network.

I wouldn't go to TalkTalk for ISP services, but I would have no problem using an ISP that used TalkTalkBusiness for backhaul.

That is if my Openreach line performed well enough for my needs. smile

I know there is a difference, but I don't really want to give Talk Talk any of my hard-earned money, I have had to deal with the company and I have also seen how they tried to slam a mate of mine by trying putting him on their network when he did not ask. Sure it may be the retail side that did that, but I still prefer to stay clear of them

Saying that I am not a fan BT or openreach, even if I am with plusnet, at the time I needed broadband for a decent price and I did not have much time to look around, so plusnet it was.
But to be honest they have been pretty good, but I did not really want to go back onto the Open reach network, but had little choice.

Because PN don't offer Gfast as EE, BT and TalkTalk retail don't do Static IP address.

I go for TTB (UnchainedISP) for including static ip address are my important one

Gfast can have problems, while we don't have Gfast here, I chat to someone who was on Gfast and they told me a while back that once their contract end they will go back to normal non-Gfast connection as most of the time they could not get the speed they were paying for.

I could be wrong, but isn't the "10 day training period" on copper products a fallacy?

Yeah, DLM is active from the time the connection goes live onwards.

DLM is a pain in the neck, or used to be on ADSL, not sure if it needed 10 days, but it certainly needed time to sort itself out if the connection was playing up.

I think DLM will start active after 24 hours installation FTTC and G.fast (both)
