Windows Home Server

I was wondering if anyone runs it here? Any good recommendations for hardware?

I *did* run it for a while until I realised what it cost me in energy costs.

Get yourself a synology and save yourself a lot of hassle and money.

It does pretty much everything you want from a home server and uses only 20w-56w power. I run a DS409+ with 8TB in RAID5.

We're running one at home.. Currently it's on a Pentium D 2.8Ghz, but that's only because I didn't have anything smaller that was working and supported SATA disks.. It's based on Server 2003, so anything that runs on will be fine..

I like the auto backup (especially as the wife can never seem to remember to do it for herself) and the ability to open things up to the family that live overseas (pictures and the like) over the web..
