I didn't - you brought up the stuff about court cases. The EU make all sorts of insane rules anyway, right down to how curved a banana is allowed to be.

Let's be fair here, the curved banana issue, as with a lot of other similar EU regulations, was neither EU initiated or sponsored. Though you would never know that from much of the UK's anti-EU press. It was actually an industry and international government agricultural departments requested common standard for quality and size as, up until then, various governments and growers had differing standards for size and quality.

In other words, there is not actually a limit on the curve that banana can have. All it means is that different sizes and curves of bananas have a different classification. Much like we have classified eggs for decades in the UK. What it means is that when a retailer buys bananas of a particular classification anywhere in the EU they know that they meet a particular standard.

Don't get me wrong, there is a great deal that needs improving with the EU, but if we are going to criticise it, at least let us do it on the facts rather than some of the UK's anti-EU media's favourite myths.

No point removing IE.

Reason is quite simple: There are many sites out there which firefox doesen't load up properly, including many which firefox claims are redirecting in a way which will never end, but when you browse them on IE, they are fine.

I'm sure people will remove it though, just so they feel high and mighty

not neccesarily, I think firefox is to blame in some of the cases, and I don't have the time or energy to bother emailing the sites and telling them to fix it, especially when some were "badly coded" as you put it about 10 years ago and havent been updated since.

No, they are, always. They were written to take advantage of bugs/workarounds in IE. They sometimes don't even work with different versions of IE. FF and Opera obey web standards v well.

Tbh though, I've haven't come across a site that hasn't worked in FF in a good 3 or 4 years now. Would be interested to see a link to one.

why is making a website look the best on a browser that 95% of viewers use (as it was a few years ago) "bad coding"? Either way, I am not cutting my nose off and refusing to view a website just becaause firefox cant view it. I am inclined to believe when it comes up saying the "page is redirecting in a way which will never complete" is firefox fault actually, else if it was redirecting in a way which can't complete, IE wouldn't be able to view it either
