Re: Firefox 3.5

[re: michaelh] [link to this post]

I just have updated my XP Pro FF3 to the latest FF3.5 yesterday and found that this FF3.5 takes considerably time (i.e. about 20s) to first load-up compared to my previous FF3. But after the FF3.5 first loaded and if I shut it down, then it would restart pretty normally though! I have tried disabling Kaspersky IS 2009 prior to FF3.5 first load-up, thinking of this might interfere with FF3.5, but it did'nt make any difference at all. Any idea or if someone have similar experience?

Thanks

Sometimes they have an experimental version for 3.5 available, but you might need to hunt a bit -- this applies to Tab Mix Plus, so huzzah, I can still click on a bookmark entry and not have it replace the current tab! grin

Never seen this problem. I would question your setup.

Yes, but then I have to remember to press the middle button, not the left one, which is too much damn effort! tongue

In reply to a post by michaelh:
Firefox, a rival to Microsoft's market domination, will release version 3.5 later this month.

Its features will include geolocation - information targeted to your location, in-built video players, and private browsing. It comes after nightly testing by 10,000 volunteers.

Its quite funny how Mozilla is now playing catch up to IE as it introduced InPrivate Browsing first.

Compeition has allowed IE to evolve into a great browser - more secure and with some great features.

According to Secunia IE 8 is insecure, something the other browsers are not accused of - no patch available yet - (though the 'insecurity' doesn't seem to be all that serious)
