MS don't release updates on a whim that are likely to cause problems. Just because McAfee are incompetent doesn't mean MS are. I have no hesitation running Windows updates immediately nor do I have any problems!!
Nor did I until about a year ago on my server. Past history might not be an indicator of future performance wink
