How long for a MAC Code

[link to this post]

Simple question, how long does it take to receive a MAC code?

Depends on how you ask.

They should be able to give you one over the phone.

I applied via the portal......and that was six days ago.
Never mind, I've changed my mind now and have cancelled my cancellation request.

With my monthly usage, you'd think that Zen would be glad to see the back of me. =^>

6 days is very poor - are you sure it was the Zen portal?

Bear in mind that 6 days probably included the weekend.

how times change eh? Don't let them force you away just yet though, I`d hold fire till the end of February if I was you. Its the knee jerk reaction of leaving now that zen want to see. Don't give them the pleasure.

You're lucky you're not asking Eclipse. Yesterday, when I asked for my MAC, I was told '5 working days'. Chasing it up today, I was told 'by the 27th December' !!

How can something as simple as typing 'SELECT MAC from [users] WHERE userid = 12345' take anyone two weeks?

dishonest business this.

Eclipse are signatories to the Migration Code of Practice and, as such, are obliged to provide a MAC within 5 working days:
Code of Practice (Clause 5)

but they're getting trickier as their customers desert them!

This from the Eclipse website :

"Is LLU covered in the Ofcom Migration Code of Practice (CoP)?

Currently, LLU does not fall within the CoP. A trial of the LLU to IPStream migration process is presently underway with our LLU service provider and BT. The target for launch is October/November 2006. This is subject to the success of trials and agreement within the ISP industry on the process thereafter. We will keep our customers informed of the progress on this page over the coming months. This means that at present, if you decide to move to another ISP, you will have to cancel your Eclipse account and re-order a new service with another ISP"

( how's that for a lie? )

Sorry, yes, I was forgetting about LLU.. Not sure what the current state of play is with the LLU CoP, but I know someone who might be and may spot your post.

John.
