After a ton of calls to tech support I finally got BT to do something and they raised my SNR margin. I would now sync at between 6500 and 7500kbps and my SNR would be around 12db. My speeds would be constant whatever time of day it was (just over 600K) and be perfect with no dropped packets and staying up for weeks at a time before I'd reboot my router.
This morning I checked my router after it'd been up for the last 12 days and I noticed I was sync'ing at 8128kbps again. Checked my SNR and it was down to 5.8db. At the moment my SNR has dropped to 1.8db and I'm getting dropped packets and slow browsing now and again >:(
The point of this long boring ramble is, how do I get my SNR raised perminantly?
btw, I'm running a Netgear DG834GT and I'm about 2 miles from my exchange (Pontypridd)
