What a difference a Zen makes!

[link to this post]

Last week I finally left the clutches of TalkTalk and moved to Zen - Talk about chalk and cheese!
Migration was easy and faultless and so far MaxDsl has been fantastic.

With many people, I believe some call "Leechers" moving around to find the best bandwidth available, it's clear that more and more ISP's are having to Cap monthly usage and quite rightly so. I'd rather have a reasonable cap than have "unknown" throttling and restrictions on anything other than HTTP in order for an ISP to live up to fantastic bandwidth claims.

I've never used P2P but realise it currently has legitimate uses and also looks tipped to be a major delivery system for media companies in the near future. With the internet experience moving that way and some ISP's moving the other, surely companies like Zen will be the only ones to be able to offer a whole internet delivery service....

I actually thought too that P2P could be a major delivery service in the future until this last week. What made me change my mind was how microsoft got worried about the uptake of the vista beta because if they increased the amount of bandwidth anymore it could have brought down the entire internet.

I think we're nearing the limitations of the current internet now, Its only a matter of time before some catastrophic event takes place IMHO.

It isn't the current internet. There's nothing wrong with the theory. It's just the demand made on the current infrastructure because of the uptake. Solutions will be found in time, starting for the UK, when BT reduces the price of those rotten centrals....

Don't believe the following 'cos it's all lies:

Very happy with Ace Biz 8000 MAX and my 8 free static IPs
ZyXel 660H router, NetGear WG602 WAP, NetGear FS 116 hub/switch

glad its all going well, I rarely have problems and it doesn't bring my life to a standstill if i don't get 750kb download speed 24/7.

Whilst BT continue to screw everyone (or is it Ofcom) little will change and as more ISP's take up max it can only get worse.

However, I think Zen is the best place to live with these difficulties.

I agree.
I have only been with Zen for just over a month and am very pleased with the service especially the helpful tech support either by phone, e-mail or live chat.

Wish I could say the same. Migration is a nightmare because BT have screwed up. It has to be a manual migration.
