Problem with Direct Debit in Portal?

I'm trying to set up a Direct Debit in the Portal - all works ok until I get to the " Assign Direct Debit Payments to My Services" screen. There is supposed to be a checkbox and an Add button but there isn't one and clicking the Save button just returns the same page in an endless loop.

Anyone else have problems with this or is it just me? Is it, perhaps because my service isn't "live" until tomorrow?

I can't say for sure but it's certainly likely to be a factor.

I doubt it would do much harm to leave it a few days after your connection is live and working on Zen, then try assigning the DD again.

I found I couldn't do much on the portal until my account was "live"

Give it a couple of days.

My Zen connection was alive and kicking when I got up this morning and I was able to set up the DD.

Exactly the same scenario with me.

Tried to set up a DD on Friday - didn't work

Tried yesterday - success!

One interesting bug - the first liine in the 'address' fields of the DD application converts all text to lower case. The other address lines don't!

Yes, I noticed that. It did it with my Post Code as well... being a bit of a pedant, it took me a few goes before I admitted defeat

Thanks. It's good to be aboard. It's early days but I've noticed already that the browser's resolving addresses in half the time with the new DNS servers.

I sympathise entirely - that sort of thing is so frustrating. Newnet lost me as a potential customer because their online sign-up form county selector thing insisted I live in Avon, despite Avon being abolished over ten years and despite Bristol being not only my correct postal address but also a county in its own right.

Just had a look at the code for this, the Bank address section is setup such that Bank Address fields will be formatted using "SentenceCase", i.e. capitalising first letter in each sentence.

The postcode should have been set to "UpperCase". I have made a fix which will be in the next release.

This is to ensure some consistency in address fields. You would not believe how some people enter their addresses, especially postcodes.

Do people find this really annoying? I guess if so we could always turn it off and do the changes server side.
