Moving to Zen

Due the the possible purhcase of the pipex group by tiscali. I am considering moving two account and two domains to Zen.

What are zen like as an ISP in terms of
performance , stability an services,
I'm not a heavy downloaded i.e very little P2P

Do they still the the good name they used to have?

Also what's their domain hosting like ?looks pricey is it really worth it ?
I'm looking for a unlimited number of email forwarded address , and no limited on the email size

I just set the migration process to move from Nildram, the Tiscali thing is a good reason, but for me it was poor reliability at Nildram. I do hope Zen are OK too, though I've already made my mind up to move to them anyways. I'm a light user too .

Performance has been 100% for me (can't speak for others obviously )
stability 100% never had any down time even with house move
can't answer p2p as I don't use it

I left Pipex in April 2006 and haven't looked back. Never had a problem with my line (even though my exchange is heavily contended). The only time I've had to call Zen the problem was sorted efficiently and professionally with no spin and, I've had a house move in that time and it went perfectly

Been with Zen for over a year and can honestly say they are the best ISP I've ever been with. Very reliable, good speeds and excellent customer service. Zen charge a bit more than your average ISP but are well worth it, they also throw in 2GB of webspace with no traffic limits and access to a news server, if you use both of these facility's then Zen actually work out cheap. You won't be disappointed with Zen.

Pretty good imo; the service is reliable and stable and the quality and level of both technical support and customer service is very high in my experience. And I say that not only as a personal (residential) customer but also now as a business customer.

I think they do, yes. I certainly wouldn't have chosen them to provide ADSL services for my organisation if I felt that they weren't up to it.

I don't use their domain hosting so I can't comment, other than to make the observation that you get what you pay for. IIRC the basic hosting package is around

Yep, it's all very good here. Zen are fantastically reliable.

Yep, for reliable connectivity, Zen is the best choice without a doubt IMO.

While I wouldn't comment on the pricing etc as it's a bit of a conflict of interest, limiting the size of e-mail makes sense and even if Zen don't (I have no idea but I suspect they do), most other people have limits so it doesn't necessarily matter.

Very good , Had a problem today wrong last night,But a reset and it was first time working. Not sure what went wrong.

They can be so cheap because everything is automated and they do not provide any technical or customer support. They are basically a bunch of cowboys.

As I said, you pay for what you get. Others will undoubtedly tell you just how poor things can be with 123-reg; witness their recent email outages as discussed here and here.

As David (ukwiz) has said, 123-reg aren't great for technical support or customer service.
