Simultaneous Provide

[link to this post]

I'm hoping to move house later this year. If I do a Simultaneous Provide will I retain my existing IP address? (8000 Active)

Smashing - thanks both.

The availability checker on the postcode says I *may* be able to get 1M ADSL and 2.5M on MAX if the wind's in the right direction. Bit of a come-down from my current rock solid 8128kbps

How much impact does taking your phone number with you have on a home move?

I will be moving shortly (literally across the road) but staying on the same exchange and also the same telephone pole but the wife wants us to take our old number.

My experience (moving accross the road) is that keeping your number eliminates any possibility of simultaneous provide.

If you want continuity of DSL service, you must either change your number or get a second line intstalled.
