Do I have a problem with Zen DNS?

[link to this post]

http://labs.ripe.net/content/testing-your-resolver-d... < according to this I might have.

My results.

Announced buffer size:
4096 bytes
Measured buffer size:
1399 bytes
EDNS enabled:
yes
DNSSEC enabled:
yes

Your resolver announced a buffer size bigger than the largest packet that it can receive.

Above my head but do I need to fix anything or will my Internet disappear May 5?

Edit: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/04/13/dnssec/ < more info, clear as mud to me.

I get the same testing Zen's DNS servers. As far as I can see, this is a configuration issue on them which I imagine they will deal with in time.

But thanks for the heads-up on DNSSEC - as I have been running my own resolver at home, I imagine I could have been caught out, because Windows 2003 DNS doesn't support DNSSEC anyway! I have changed to using Zen's DNS as forwarders, which should mean I have no further worries about it.

Hi,

We are currently aware of an issue with our DNS severs handling the larger UDP packet sizes.

This is something that we are aware of and are currently working on. This is something we will have resolved before it causes any issues for you.

Once we are happy this is resolved we will be performing some testing with CPE to ensure nothing unexpected happens.

Cheers,

Chris.
