IamQ, how do I go about moving to an LLU service?
The best way is to pick the ISP you want to goto (Sky, BE, etc)
Get your MAC from your current ISP
Give that to your gaining ISP
Job done.
When you call up your gaining ISP ask and make sure there putting you there LLU service and NOT a BT service.
You don't need to do anyting with your phone line, LLU for DSL is lifed off at the exchange and won't upset your voice service
You can leave your voice service with BT without any problems
LLU provision involves a re-jumper and as such some down time once the order goes through and you are due to be connected.
You will need an ADSL2+ router if you don't already have one - some of the ISP's provide there own with the service (Sky for example)
Have a look about on this forum, there is lots to read and choices to be made, if you want some more help once you have picked the gaining ISP then let us know.
LLU works in the same way as the BTWS service (as far as the exchange goes) as in the service is terminated onto another providers MSAN's rather than BT's. Is the ISP who runs the MSANS and the connectivity back from the exchange to there core network and out to the wider internet rather then BT handing it off to them.
The kitz.co.uk website has lots of info on it which may help.
