FTTP installed yesterday

[link to this post]

Hi all,
Our FTTP was finally installed yesterday and just have to say it went rediculously smoothly.

I got some images of the install.....if anyone is actually interested smile

It looks like our ONT is a Huawei Echolife HG8110H-20, not a bad size and just worked as soon as the guy terminated the cable outside.

We are on the 100/20 package with Zen and as soon as the box was running a speedtest gave me exactly theose figures.....crazy fast compared to our previous set up (RIP).

Nothing but good things to say for both Zen and The openreach guy who came to do this.

Need to change your signature line now Glad everything went smoothly we usually only hear the horror stories.

Do a Thinkbroadband speed test so it shows on the map and Mr Saffron has a chance to spot it for the postcode.

Speedtest was done with some light usage from other members of the house at the time.

Location was seen in the end of day run a bit earlier, and will move into checker tonight

Easy one to spot given slow speeds at location before

Congratulations on your choice of ISP (been with Zen for over 6 years on a continuous basis (FTTP from January 2018)

Speeds are consistent (was on 39 Mbps down and 9 up until March, moved to 76 down and 18 up and then to 100 Mbps down and 18 up in September as it was the same price).

Before then was on ADSL with a long line, had a few issues but they always acted quickly to get them sorted.

Virgin (ADSL) => Namesco => Newnet => O2 => Plusnet => Zen => Newnet => Zen => Freeola => Vivaciti (using O2 Wholesale DSL) => Xilo (C&W Wholesale) => Xilo (O2 Wholesale) => Xilo (TT Wholesale due to O2 Wholesale closure) => Zen LLU =>> ZeN FTTP (100 Mbps down, 18 Mbps up)
Router: Fritzbox 7530
