OH Dear ! - So, it moves to Failed:4 Successful; 0
Important! Where are you please S2KIP?
So, what do we know?
1) GEA migrations at least sometimes don't go well
2) It 'may' be limited to the North West
3) The failure mode seems to cause packet loss, that is handled differently dependent on the connected TCP stack
4) Whilst we were originally told that the problem only affected two people *FakeJake and myself* - we now know that it is at least 100% more people than that
5) So far, we have only seen this affect higher speed FTTP packages, it would be really good to know if this is true or not (Is anyone having problems with the 100 or 300Mbps packages?)
I'm not sure when Zen will admit that there is a problem (publicly, as they have privately), but it seems to me that
all people who have been GEA migrated should check their connections using Speedtest.net or fast.com over a few runs and let us know on this forum especially if the results don't seem right.
I note that Zen have said that is not their policy going forwards to un-migtrate people, but as they have been 'testing' (us poor guinea pigs) for over 3 months now, and they seem no closer to a fix. They should have actually performed proper systematic testing prior to switching this all live, and avoided reputational damage.
I note your intention to move ISP S2KIP, and I suspect other people will come to a similar conclusion unless this is properly addressed by Zen.
I further note that the guaranteed download speeds offered for the Zen FTTP packages is now a TERRIBLE 50% of the advertised headline speeds, viz 450Mbps on the 900Mbps package -
does this tell us something? TalkTalk isn't even THAT bad !!!
