Zeb's line problems now resolved !

[link to this post]

My line problems (which started back in July when I was with Zen) are now resolved !

My line (which was up and down all over the place) which had a BRAS of 1250kbps is now sync'ing at 5984kbps. BT have replaced about 400 metres of cable in the road - the first section at the top end of the road raised my sync to just over 3000kbps, and the section in a new duct between me and the house next door (167 metres away) which was completed this afternoon raised the sync speed to nearly 6000kbps.

I would like to thank Shaun at AAISP for keeping the pressure on BT, and working closely with me to get the problems resolved. I can't praise Andrews and Arnold highly enough.

Out of interest, did you get that done just on an ADSL fault, or a voice fault logged as well?

Can you say what happened about the 'tree' problem? I was following your other thread but it went a bit ballistic...

I negotiated with BT and they agreed that no charges should be imposed, condidering the length of time that it took them to find the problem.

Good question. Well, the fault was first logged when I was a Zen customer, and it was logged as an ADSL fault. BT allegedly fixed the ADSL fault, and 24 hours later I had a voice fault, which Zen didn't want anything to do with. So, I got it fixed as a voice fault, and then 2 days later the ADSL fault returned. After this game of ping-pong went on for about a week, I emailed the CEO of BT, who passed it over to one of the Openreach Complaints Managers. Another 2 months went by, during which time I lost faith in Zen and transferred to AAISP. Finally, the problems were fixed, but it's been a long hard slog.

The suspicious might think that what really happened is that Shaun came round personally and gave the line such a kicking with his mythic boots that BT had to come and fix it! smile smile

A conversion something along the lines of:
BT: There IS nothing wrong with the customers line!!!
Shaun: One moment...
<Muffled sounds of some serious kicking going on>
Shaun: Could you re-test it now.
BT: Oh..... I'll send a man round.

Well apparently one weekend Shaun was in this area, and he told me that it was only his wife reminding him that it was supposed to be a day out that prevented him from coming over smile
