line WAS solid & is now back to wonky. I've unplugged the home hub & plugged in my old speedtouch 510 v4 - syncs at 5mb now with an snr margin of 15dB, but the line has stayed up since the moment it sync'd.

I think the Home Hub's modem is rubbish and I'm gonna see about sending it back & doing something else instead. I'm gutted because I really liked the free broadband talk & hub phone idea.

edit: swear filter didn't like a word I said - not a bad word either

JCook,

I am still quite new to this tool but learing more about it at the moment as well.

On the right hand side of the window you have the modem options screen in the 3rd tab there is a slider that allows you to change the SNR margin up / down a little.
I'm not sure what level of effect it has when you increase this. As i mentioned my SNR is tweeked down to squeeze a bit more spped from the line.

I suggest you run a search on the forum for "Speedtouch DMT" this will provide some intersting reading.
