I'm about to take the plunge to Max too. Will all the email sub-accounts be retained along with mine? Anyone know if my Voyager 2100 will be OK with Max? Please confirm that the router should not be switched off during the 10 days' initial use.

Just a thought would plugging in the home hub activate anything ? Thanks for the order management phone number anyway in case nothing happens.

uncleclives : plugging in the HH should not make any change.

Geoff: Your Voyager 2100 should be fine, you will get a HH any which I reccomend you use with Total Broadband(sounding like BT their) but honestly it makes diagnostics much easier to do.

As for router switching off, BT Wholesale official documentation states that the equipment should be left on for at least 15 minutes per day. But to be honest it does not make that much odds leaving it on all the time. I used to switch it off, doing some calculations it costs around

Hi Geoff,

Yep leave the router switched on for the 10 day training period this where it finds the best average balance between reliability and speed. Not sure on your other points sorry.

Hi all,

Well an update BT max was enabled this morn checked my speed with the BT speed tester and was getting the following.
IP profile for your line is - 2000 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 8128 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 1855 kbps down

So will the downstream go up after the 10 day training period is that as good as Im going to get i.e. the same as I had before on my 2Mb connection ?

Checked my wireless routers status and got the following

DSL Path Mode: INTERLEAVED
Downstream Rate: 8128 Kbps
Upstream Rate: 448 Kbps
Downstream Margin: 19 db
Upstream Margin: 25 db
Downstream Line Attenuation: 16
Upstream Line Attenuation: 7

Speed test using the thinkbroadband gave the following
http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest/results/id/117006474872996110831.html

Confussed whats happening please ?

speeds can fluctuate wildly during the 10 day training period but generally if you synch at a given rate for 3 days then speeds will adjust upwards but during the first 10 days u just need to be very patient

You have the max speed you can get! You now need to wait for the speed limiter(BRAS Profile) to update after 3 days to your new found speeds.

Hi all,

Well it day 4 of activation and the IP profile is still stuck at 2000Kbps the router has been syncing at a solid 8128kbps. Rebooted the router to no avail hope things sort themselves out soon.....
