I've been using this for at least the past three months. Ever since this time yesterday, however, it has come up with the following Test Error message:
The Performance Tester is currently unable to run a speed test for your broadband connection. Please try again shortly, however if this problem persists, raise the issue with your service provider.
At least 12 attempts. My isp is bt! All other progs seem to be working OK, and response isn't perceptibly different, so must suspect some glitch at bt? But rather than e-mail custserv and wait five days only to be told to check the microfilter, I thought I would ask you guys please.
Yes,yes, yes. I can and do use the tbb speedtest,but it seems to work on a different basis?

All I'd suggest is make sure your Java is up to date, and use (ugh) Internet Explorer to do the tests. If you're using IE8 then try using the IE6/7 compatability mode.

I suggest this, due to "quirks" in the past where the tester refused point blank to run under Firefox but would work perfectly fine seconds later on IE.

I've had the same issue since about 3 this morning, I've tried IE, Firefox, Safari as well. Also tried it on a coiple of pc's as well. The problems still there

I've been having the same problem since yesterday morning on a BT IPstream via another ISP. After entering my number and pressing the 'Go' button the tester moves to stage 3 with "Test error" message. It was working perfectly earlier in the week. Any suggestions?

Hi there, we are currently aware that there is a fault with our speed tester and we are trying to get this resolved as soon as possible. That's because BT doesn't know about web standards, they are like Microsoft in that sense, just look at their home page where the W3C validator reports hundreds of errors.
