I believe Sky have an app to check speeds and stuff, it will also initiate a line test and raise faults with Openreach if any of these don�t come back as OK.
Well if its 400m thats the shortest 400m i have ever travelled.
Or you aren't looking at your/an FTTC cabinet/PCP?
Well i know i am looking at FTTC cabinet, 2 new taller ones have been installed next to the original smaller cab which has been there donkeys years and still in use. BT lad told me 9 months ago they are for fibre connections.

I have upgraded from sky ADSL but they would not give me one of the newer routers as they said My SR102 will be fine but the wifi is rubbish on mine as well, but i always do checks when connected to wired connection.
Also one check with BT said i could get around 135mb on a ultrafast package (i think thats what they called it)
