OK, that sounds like it ought to be ideal then....

I believe Sky have an app to check speeds and stuff, it will also initiate a line test and raise faults with Openreach if any of these dont come back as OK.

Well if its 400m thats the shortest 400m i have ever travelled.
Or you aren't looking at your/an FTTC cabinet/PCP?

Well i know i am looking at FTTC cabinet, 2 new taller ones have been installed next to the original smaller cab which has been there donkeys years and still in use. BT lad told me 9 months ago they are for fibre connections.

OK thanks.
I have upgraded from sky ADSL but they would not give me one of the newer routers as they said My SR102 will be fine but the wifi is rubbish on mine as well, but i always do checks when connected to wired connection.
Also one check with BT said i could get around 135mb on a ultrafast package (i think thats what they called it)

That suggests your cabinet has a service called G.fast available, and the 135 Mbps is probably the estimate for that service.

May not be yours though.

I've got a cabinet 75m away from my house. I'm connected to one 350m away.

The way BT route lines can be weird and wonderful some times. Could go all round the block before it gets to you.

Some attenuation stats will give us an idea of the line length.
