CFP - Demand Led

[link to this post]

Hello,

I thought i'd kick off a thread to show my journey for a CFP in Derbyshire.

We've just had the estimates back, which originally scoped 40 homes, it now has a scope of 116 houses which all fall within the DCMS voucher scheme. Openreach tell me this will be treated as a demand led scheme and that we need to find £58k out of the voucher pot beyond what they will cover from a commercial level.

I'm currently writing my canvas materials so if anyone has any advice or questions about this, feel free to drop a comment )

1) Is there a saving in the cost if some customers don't want FTTP?

2) Where live it was very difficult to get 30% of the properties to agree to have Gigaclear FTTP. IIRC we had to pay £100 for the connection and arrange for a supplied fibre cable to be laid between the pot on the property boundary and the router. (Could be DIY or paid for.)

3) The Gigaclear project went ahead because there were people with good marketing skills who visited reluctant potential customers.

Good Luck.

Thanks Michael - I think on your point on cost saving, OR added the houses as they're along the route from our Agg Node all the way to the original 40 homes listed, so i think this may in fact reduced some of the cost as some have fallen into into commercial plans.
