Have you enquired about FTTC and what speed you may get?
I was on FTTC with first BT Retail and later Plusnet for 8 years, and ADSL before that. Started at 60 / 8, and finally left when speeds were 45 / 3.

The problem was the upload, and my only choice was Virgin, moved at the end of 2019.

Strangely enough I seem to get over 150Mbps on mine wired. It's not particularly accurate on my Xbox Series X as I never get over 150Mbps on speed tests on other devices.

I think we should all allow this to drop as his mental health is probably taking a battering from what he has done and the comments from both here and on Kitz.

Lawks is he still at it, I remember him quibbling over 1 or 2Mbps on 8Mbps ADSL years ago. Somethings don't change. I'd have killed for those speeds g.fast or not our fastest prior to fttp next week was 7/8Mbps on fttc

To be honest i don't get all this chasing speed and never have, i get 65Mbps and that is fine for us, i get some people need more speed if they are working from home and sharing internet with other family members but does the average internet user need more than 65Mbps?

Why would the average family need 150Mbps for?

Has Mr Max ever explained why he chases max speeds all the time or is it as i imagine just a need for speed.

.

Before lockdown would agree with you 100% but since my 49MB does struggle with all the mobiles and laptops connecting. I suspect some of that is down to my wifi being erratic but tried everything to get to the bottom, even plugging into test socket, new router / modem.

I would love to have circ 80meg as that would be enough for the heavy usage sessions.

He asks for advice on forums ignores it and then moans when it all goes tits up its not a wonder threads like this exist, he is his own worst enemy he knows what he is doing when he does it but cannot help himself in the never ending chase for more speed, i dont think he has mental health issues i think he loves the attention he gets in the forums.

How do you know he has mental health issues did he tell you himself?

It is known to many of us from Max's postings both on here and the Kitz forums that Max has mental health issues.

In that case surely the best action would be to remove his permission to post in the forums like this surely allowing him to post is the opposite of what is needed to stop this behaviour.

I know some people always have to have the last word and prove that they are right but I wonder if that sort of behaviour is really appropriate when laying down the law about personal matters concerning another poster. As far as I can see, @dect and @jelv have a rather more mature take on the situation.

(Edited to acknowledge the earlier input from @dect).

Didn't I say we should let it drop? maybe it could be you one day so have some dignity for those who do have issues.
