Ethernet Cable Query

is it safe to run on Ethernet cable up the side of my house, i would like to run from my master socket ( next to window) where me router is , drill an hole through the wooden window feed the cable outside, run up the side of the house the feed it back into the attic, is the safe, is an Ethernet cable weather proof .

i live in a old house it it would take a long time to drill through the floors to feed the cable up to the attic where my computer is

It will work OK, but the cable will have a limited life as it is not designed to be weatherproof. You could run it in PVC conduit for longer life. Having said that it should last years rather than months.

You can get external grade Cat 5 cable - use that and you will be OK.
