Sky connect and torrent files

[link to this post]

I have just recently joined sky connect. The problem i am getting that can't seem to get torrent speeds over 20kb/ps. Is this and individual problem or it just that sky connect is traffic managed.

Thanks

Kian.

Thanks buckle Z. Put encryption on in azereus and did speed up a bit. Got it up to 40kb/ps....suppose I will just have to live with it for the time being.

Hi I aint on sky yet, but use three well known torrent clients, Bitcomet, U Torrent & Azureus..

U Torrent i find gives the best speed... I get the full speed (on my prersent ISP MAAF)just a few tips (if ya aint done it already)

Make sure you set up a port, look at www.portforwarding.com for help with your router. Also make sure your firewall is not blocking ya connection in anyway..

Also I believe by default Installing SP2 limits your TCP connection attempts to 10 whereas there wasn't any limit in SP1. MS supposedly did this as a security measure. You can increase this using a tool here :

Hope it helps you a little..

You can change the half open TCP limit inside Bit Comet although you still need to reboot afterwards. What did you change the limit to out of curiousity?

I changed mine to 50 when I used BitComet, although i mostly use U Torreent now and still set at 50..

I didn't realise you could change that within bitcomet, then again my Bitcomet is the 0.70 version, I didn't like the newer versions... and it seemed more stable on my PC.
