Just Connected :-)

[link to this post]

Thats me now officially part of the Sky fold on the max package only prob is they connected me at 8Mb G.DMT (ADSL) and not ADSL2+ so I've Emailed Andrew on this fine site so fingers crossed

Wonder why they bumped me on ADSL and not 2+ as I could get 13Mb easily with bulldog..

stats are..

Attenuation:- 26dB Down ~ 16.5dB Up
LineSpeed :- 8096k ~ 768k
SNR:- 15.9dB Down ~ 13.0dB Up

Well it did not work for me.

The date on the letter (tomorrow) will be missed, as told on the phone earlier on this morning, they missed first order, an second order (after the failed first one). Now they need to clear their system for 5 working days, apparently, before being able to place an order again for third time.

May I add the countdown for this 5 working days starts all over again each time you call, I was told to wait until next Tuesday this morning for any possibility of submitting the order as I was told to wait to the end of this week earlier.

Thinking of cancelling all together and send the router back. Because the router is here, arrived within 2 days of first order...

The support is flaky to say the least

An email to the very top at Sky did not made any bit of difference at all :no reply at all from the management, all I had was an unsigned 2 lines mail from customer service, to whom the email to Mr Murdoch was forwarded) telling me someone would look at it (2 days ago, no further reply)

I fail to see how they can give you a live date with an order not been accepted by Openreach, it's just pure guess by Sky, nothing else.

All this would have been avoided if I was able to put the first order online, as I wanted to, but their system refused to recognise my password in the "Sky shop" order, even if I was logged with that password, as otherwise you can't upgrade your existing package

So I phoned to place my order and the guy who took the order got a wrong letter in MAC code, as it can happen much easily when ordering over the phone. Second order had definitely the right MAC, but refused the same, apparently.

Basically, the Sky ordering system is flawed, and if you fail a migration because of a wrong MAC, and submitted a second order with right MAC the order is rejected anyway, and they are unable to place any further orders without a full clearing of their system which apparently takes 5 days.

It took me 3 calls to understand how all this works.

I have read many people going through all this and ending up after a final try with a 30 days wait to be able to order.

Really having a second though about it all right now...

May I add that, of course, in the BT order tracking on the BT web site, there isn't any order on my line.

PS. After almost 2 months of silence, may I say hello to everyone and thanks to those who wished well after my terrible failure giving it a go as a VISP.

I will remain silent the same for quite a while, still reading these forums daily but feeling I lost a lot of legitimacy to make comments after my poor show earlier in the year.

That's not bad at all. How does it compare to your Bulldog speeds?

Same as me when waiting Sky to reprovide BB Max. No order even line is clear/free of tag.
After 1 month of waiting, it is enough to me. Everythings telling me that chance to reprovide BB from Sky is very low. So cancel it at day 30 of waiting.

My thought maybe Sky don't want to pay BTW again for my reprovide which cost them alot. Also, alot of new customer waiting for provideing BB. They just leave it (telling story when I chaseing them) until I ask for cancel.

After cancel Sky BB, I joined another ISP at the same day. BT order tracking showed that my new ISP placed PROVIDE order to BTW at the same day I joined.
My activation day is tomorrow . So fingers crossed
