Talk Talk is like a lot of ISPs that charges stupid low prices like Plusnet, Tiscali, Orange and a few others, they only want people who browse the net for about a hour or two a day and use emails. If you do a bit of P2P or watch a couple of videos then you have trouble.

Saying that you got to get a decent sync speed to start with.

I didn't think TT offered speeds upto 24Mb, where is this info, if any?

Look for info on the speedboost, this has been official for several months now

should probably go back to interleaved due to the bursts of Rx CRC I am getting... but doesn't seem to impact on throughput.

Use the TalkTalkmembers website to get SNR target and path mode set, there are knowlegeable and helpful TT staff there!

Oh dear!, more disinformation from you, the service is fine for more than a bit of p2p and video. You need to get a life and take your personal vendetta against TalkTalk elsewhere.

Oh come on!
If Adrian took his personal vendettas against Talk-Talk, Sky, ebay and Paypal elsewhere, he'd have nothing to post about wink.

Why is it then that every one I know that have Talk Talk is on naff speeds and yet people that live in the same vacinity on different ISPs have good speeds?

Someone from work live almost next door to the exchange and still only sync at 5Mbits, that is stupid. Maybe whoever put TT equipment in the exchange did not do it right, be cause around their speeds are rubbish

I got no vendettas against Sky, Ebay or paypal. I just don't use them and would not trust Paypal or Ebay.

Nothing against Sky apart from having a barney with them this evening, when I phoned on behalf of someone who registered for SkyHD. Puytting the phone down on a customer is not on and they did that twice to my friend, because she wanted to de-register SkyH.D

It don't work very well on a T.V that is not HD, she thought that she could use it as a normal Sky+ box, which you can, but she would still have to pay the Ten pound extra a month or pay full price for the box.

Sorted now, it is amazing what difference someone can make who will not stand being mucked around.

But no I have nothing against Sky, I did use Sky at one point, but it was just not for me, too expensive for what they offer./

TT on the other hand is too cheap for the naff service they offer.

sometimes after telling someone in 6 different ways and they still dont get it, the only resort is to put the phone down and try to move on with your day.
So your friend ordered skyHD, then complained cus she got SkyHD?

She is a little gullible, she must be Talk Talk talked her into getting a braodbabnd package because it was cheaper than a normal phone package. she have not got a computer.

Ok she now have a X-box, which can use the net.

It was her boyfriend who wanted her to have HD, thinking that the price of the box was good and it would work as a Sky+ box, which it would, but not realising that you got to pay the extra £10 a month for 12 months. Cheaper to go for a normal Sky+ box.

She complained because Sky did not listen, she have every right to cancel the order and it was only a registration anyway. Sky just don't like the idea of people turning them down.
Still sorted now.

Sky is not the only company like it, BT and your great Talk Talk is like it, in fact they are worse, they come to the door step and have a paddy if you tell them to go away and then call you stupid because you don't want to use their service.
They also lie to you as well, telling you about the great speeds we will get up here, I wish.

I had someone from TT call at my door the other day saying how are you finding the service now that your exchange has been upgraded. As soon as I started to explain the problems and that everything has got worse they quickly ended the conversation and p!ssed off.

No doubt if I said the service was great they would of tried selling me something. In fact they have probably signed me up to something anyway without my knowledge.
