adsl2 47db speed, help

Hello! im 3 km from my exchange, before 21cn rollout i had 36db now its changed to 48db?? i dont know what caused the problem!before i had 3.5mbps then i said WTF?!?! and started to google about the problem and how i can improve my speed!I bought speedtouch 585v6 changed SNRm to 4db and now it syncs at day timee at 7.5 mbps and 6.5 at night! what an improvement! but my question is:there is a big drop in tones! how can i improve them?here are the stats of DMT!

You were on standard ADSL, you are now on ADSL2 and ADSL2+. Reported attenuations tend to be higher on ADSL2/+ than standard ADSL, although I thought an increase of 4dB was more typical.

Your daytime modulation (G.992.5) is ADSL2+ and your nighttime modulation (G.992.3) is ADSL2. I have no idea why.

What problem do you actually have?

If you want to see the best speeds you are likely to achieve plug your router into the test socket within the BT master socket. If they are better there is scope to improve your internal phone wiring.

ive tried test socket, same speed! i was thinking, if tones increase , then my speed will increase! so i want to increase my tones! maybe there is something like an amplifier?

ADSL dosn't work like that. You can't by something to amplify the tones that you are missing.

The speed you are getting, if the 50db attenuation is correct, is very good. I know people with the same attenuation getting much much less.

ok then, if i change the wire to my house? will it makes any difference? because some people tells that they have second line and it works better than their old one??

It *may* do - as every line is different but there is no guarantee it will and you may then be out of pocket to the tune of over £100 if you get BT to do that.

Probably not. Your line to the exchange would be exactly the same.

thanks for fast reply!yestrday i seen a BT engineer was doing someting at green box, and my signal dropped a lot! can it be that he messed up some wires? lol

What do you exactly mean by that? Do you have any before and after graphs/stats?

It is possible you might have a dodgy connection in the cab but without seeing the stats - too hard to say.

i mean that theres 150 tones now! and its was 170 minimum, before!

Do you have a graph?

My router just restarted by itself and its reconnected with 197 tones, but i still dont understand why at night time speeds are lower than on daytime!?!?

Because ADSL uses the same range of frequencies as AM radio (up to around 2MHz if you've a very short line).
Atmospheric changes starting at dusk (and ending at dawn the next morning) mean AM radio signals propogate further and this causes problems for ADSL in the same way it causes problems for AM radio (medium wave if you're old).
Nothing you can do about it (short of move to a different planet, or wait for all AM radio stations to be switched off).
