All I can suggest is we need to go through the pain of reporting issues continually to show there is a wider problem than 1 or 2 individuals. Trouble is, most people don't have access to this tooling and so don't know.

This is what I see from a throughput perspective:

July 17th
July 18th
July 19th
July 20th no issues with available bandwidth
Last 7 days
Last 30 days

I received a text message about emergency maintenance work next week earlier today. It's advertised as Tuesday 25th August....but the 25th August isn't a Tuesday so I think they meant 25th July.....which is next week.

Yeah,
I've been spamming through reports as per.

Getting the traditionally slow replies, as well as a lovely "Would you recommend our service?" email. - guess the reply to that one.

Hopefully it isn't like pulling teeth this time.

Hello All. My Upload speeds on my 900/900 symmetrical connection are far from equal.

My Downloads via Ethernet on the Adtran router are generally 900+ but my uploads are generally half or less. Average out to about 300-400

I have put a ticket with Hey broadband but they are taking a while to come to any real conclusion or fix.

I have rebooted the black small ONT box and router, replaced the Wan cable between ONT and Hey router with a new cat 7 cable. tried different ethernet cables and ports. Im still using the Adtran router as i have my landline phone ported over so stuck with the router they supply ( wifi turned off ).

The weird thing is that the router internal speed test seems fine but actually using the ethernet socket on several devices , laptops and desktops say otherwise and replicated by my Main Deco XE75 mesh when plugging into ethernet ( access point mode ) .

Any thoughts

What are you using to test the speed? I've found the ThinkBroadband test to be wildly inaccurate.

Best test seems to be the Speedtest.net app, rather than their website: https://www.speedtest.net/apps

Cheers,
Andy

Hi Andy , pretty much all of the main ones but as you mentioned the Speedtest.net one i use most including the dedicated windows app.

https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/d/24ab9381-6884-...

All speed tests indicate that the upload cannot maintain equal speeds normally goes down to the 300 mark on average.

Not sure if its router issue or Gpon box, does the same with all Ethernet ports and swapped all cables to be sure.

Posted this issue to Hey broadband over a week ago but apart from a few emails no ones has come back to me to investigate.

Thank you.

That speed test looks like a poor VDSL line, are you sure that's from your Hey! connection? (37down, 6 up???)

That said, you're testing to a server in Seattle, USA, so not ideal. Can you try the speedtest app and choose Trooli in maidstone as the test server? Here's my result to that server:

I would note that I use my own router (Asus RT-AC86U).

My bad, I clicking the link from my email and it was shortened. Not sure how it even opened a result!

I see the correct result now, and it looks like the upload is halved. Are you able to swap out the router to see if it's the issue? When I first had Hey! installed I only had my old Zen Fritzbox, and amazingly it handled Gb speeds quite well.

I tried plugging router wan cable into the XE75 Deco directly from the Gpon fibre box but would not get an ip address, maybe because my connection is not on bridge mode.

Could be the router but earlier tests when i had connection installed were full speeds 900+ up and down.

Only started happening few weeks ago.

I guess it must be an issue on the network then. Good luck getting Hey! to sort it....
