Any half decent switch will detect that, and ignore the ports. Anyone using a basic hub would be advised to upgrade 
I wonder if the SuperHub 3 is running each switch port individually through software and this provides some basic test, otherwise it does seem only a basic test of some of the cores of a patch lead.
He asked to plug in a cable, not the one I was using, Ive got another hub downstream, and not using the wifi either, its basically acting as a modem.
Cant use modem mode because the router I have is too slow even for the 350MB speed I had before.
Ive asked for an explanation, the guy isnt back in till 2 pm tomorrow.
The connection is getting worse by the day, something is broken somewhere, I did seen some VM guys working on the mini exchanges locally with laptops on the top of the cabs, by the way they were watching the screens and waiting around I'd guess a software upgrade. I didnt think the internet was served from the same cabs?
