What Ad Blocker for Edge?

[link to this post]

At a friend's this morning looking at some issues for a friend. On her daughter's account she wants an ad blocker. I use ABP on Chrome but that doesn't seem to be available on Edge.

Any suggestions for one that's ok?

Laptop is a Sony Vaio running Windows 10 1903 Home.

I recommend Ublock Origin (not Ublock) if possible. It's one of the better ones. I found ABP and Ghostery to be system hoggy. Not sure if it's Edge compatible.

Adblock Plus is available for Edge: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/p/adblock-plus-beta/...

ABP is listed as available (but as a beta) here, along with a number of other possibilities: https://www.windowscentral.com/best-adblockers-micro...

If you go into 'Extensions' from within Edge via the three little dots in top right hand corner then click 'Explore more options' there are several good Ad Blockers including ABP

It's been in beta for 4 years I think (while receiving updates). It's stable enough to drop the beta label in my opinion (I have used it before).

Replying to latest for convenience.

Just been round to sort things out. Couldn't get Edge to load ABP but then a new version of Edge popped up. Let that install and then able to select and install ABP.

User now a happy bunny - she worries for when her daughter (ME sufferer) uses the PC and is trying to make it as safe as possible.

Thanks for your help.

Ad blocker don't block malware or 'undesirable content'. For that you need parental controls.
