Recent move from entaneT to AAISP, entA were known as good, but even comparing them in their
heyday, the service received from AAISP is revolutionary.
In a proactive move, AAISP insisted BT investigate my line, they have, and I now see a substantial improvement.
Being a looooooooooong way from the exchange I will never see great speeds (until fibre) but with their (AAISP) intervention
my broadband experience in enhanced.
Contrary to popular belief this service is not gained through an expensive package, it's very competitive, and the sevice
is superb.
If they falter I will be the first to post, but don't hold your breath!

Notes:
Your line is configured to the maximum rate that it can support or at your chosen fixed rate,
this is known as the line rate and would be viewed through your CPE software or in your router configuration.
Your IP profile is always less than the line rate and is normal on any network.
The Actual IP throughput is the average rate that was achieved during this test.

I was very sad to lose AAISP when we ditched the crappy BT line.
Even Shaun in his BT kicking boots couldn't get mine sorted after a long time trying.
If Virgin ever LLU their cable network and AAISP gets in on the action (or I move to a house with a half decent phone line) I'll be back to AA like a shot.

Can you give your line's attenuation - this will be a useful guide as your BT test results on their own don't say much (to me)?
Thanks.

It's interesting that your speedtest.net correctly shows the isp as "andrews & arnold".
I'm also with aaisp and it just shows as "enterprise court" on my result - strange!

Yeah, I put that there to show things weren't perfect all the time, but to be fair, congestion is very rare and it might even be from my local exchange (doubt it though as I'm in a small village).

Well trusting the BT test as that's only only accurate one of the 3 that results is pants. For a line profile of 6500 you should be getting between 5.5 and 6mb
So getting between 3.5 and 4 is [censored]. So much for a "great" isp?
This is the scond time you've jumped on a thread regarding AAISP - I'm not sure if you are having:
1. A bad day
2. A particular reason for having a go at a specific ISP
or
3. You are just someone whos glass is always half empty
Or perhaps it's all of the above.
You are of course entitled to voice your opinion (which is particularly welcome when it's constructive) but I fail to see the point of any of these related posts unless you are trawling the boards looking for an argument - along the lines of, "Oh look, nobody's having a go at that ISP - I'll soon fix that!"

Is that something to do with this http://www.thinkbroadband.com/news/3924-major-cable-... otherwise I'd get onto them

Idk. There's someone with a strimmer nearby and even though it's not causing an SNR increase I'm going to wait till the finished before reporting it. My lcp echo times have been steadily increasing too.

Looks like there was quite a lot of packet loss on the RAS you are connected to, possibly related to the issue in London or maybe a knew problem..
Anyway that loss looks to have cleared up.
We are checking with BT to confirm it is related.

Seems to have cleared up now yes. Weird though.

I'm guessing that you are in different IP ranges and the RIPE details start with Address instead of the ISP name for your range.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sorry to bump this thread, but I should update this. My poor speeds were being caused by a misconfiguration at the local exchange. This problem has been on my line since my Entanet days. Back then 'James' from adsl24 and his 'account manager' at Entanet couldn't even tell me what the problem was let alone fix it. Within a day of me outlining the problem to AAisp, the problem was diagnosed and fixed. My line has been a solid 7meg every day since.
They really are a top notch team.

That's good to know they seem to be sorting a lot of problems out for people

Sounds like Shaun is keeping his "BT-kickin-boots" tightly laced up!

In fact, last week my local exchange yet again became misconfigured, but a few emails to AAisp sorted it out. I have to wonder if they (BT) are doing it on purpose.

Pm me your details and I will speak to BT again, I think I know who you are but just want to confirm.
