I think it's because developers are so familiar with the current systems they are able to really push its abilities to the max... just think what they will do with PS4/XB1 in the future...

The big difference though with BF4 is that current gen will have 24 players versus 64 on next gen. Big BF maps would benefit with the extra players IMO. Not sure when I will be getting a PS4 but I will give BF4 a miss until I do.

Yea I will buy it, probably not on day one but I will get it. But to be honest I much prefer to play GTA games on a PC
Sadly my PC isn't up to it.
Oh yea that reminds me I was thinking of upgrading my PC and getting a decent gaming rig again. I'll look into that again and maybe wait until I get a PC. It will be cheaper then too laugh

My PC isn't up to running GTAV either. It won't run PS3/Xbox games (not that I've tried mind). crazy

PC gaming. Hmm. It's a barrel of laughs. Took me all night trying to work out why I was getting kicked from BF3 after 5 mins of playing. Thought it was that nuisance timeybuster program so got to upgrading it and then later, plonking the files in manually as I was still being kicked.

More (mainly fruitless) searching and I finally found the cure: disable UPnP in the router et voila! No more kicks. Why the F do game devs leave bugs like that in their games? Then I remembered this had happened before and it was all because I'd changed ISPs and had to use a different router, which of course had UPnP enabled.

Ah, PC gaming is great when you actually get to game. tongue

Yeah, reckon you're right. I think I did that with GTA IV. Dunno how I managed to wait so long tho as it took ages for that game to get properly patched. Might've been the hefty 3D power required meant a graphics card upgrade was essential, hence the long wait till I upgraded my system. I'm not in the mood to do it again, hence why actually buying a PS4 is tempting. Right Timey? [that should 'hopefully' shut him up for a while if he's reading this post] grin

Rockstar has revealed the hope behind Grand Theft Auto Online is "to create an entire Grand Theft Auto world that consists of everything we've done or are going to do then let the player freely move between them."

That's what Rockstar North president Leslie Benzies told the latest issue of Game Informer, lending credence to the notion that other famous GTA locales like Liberty City will one day be available in GTA Online.

I think its a dead cert for next generation consoles and Rockstar know that but they dont want or need to impact sales of the game on current generation.

Would not surprise me that GTA5 is out on next generation systems by Christmas, and if the games good then i will by it on a Playstation 4 no problem.

Because im not keeping my playstation 3 once i upgrade thats a stone cold fact, even if GTA5 is brilliant it will go with the other class game The Last Of Us and i just hope they make the jump to Playstation 4.

I dont think this is a good thing, far too many games now days are going online, and offline single player is dieing.

Godus a game I was looking forward to I found out yesterday eg. that to get all the cards in the game one has to go online and trade with other players, I have now gone right off that game as they have made it online focused.

Unfortunately its the world we live in and people expect a really decent online game more than a really good single player experience.

There are a few exceptions though,GTA5 will be one of them and The last of us was the best single player game i have ever played.

I think its also an anti piracy thing.

Think these days that almost every game has DLC, or online exclusive content. If you pirate the game its incomplete as you only get the offline element.

On godus you cant even progress in the single player without the cards, they not just cosmetic collectables they reuired to advance.

Regarding GTA 5 I feel if their online game is a success then there wont be a GTA 6, instead be gta online 2 and so on.

There was a time mate when I would have a Nintendo Wii U [dont laugh [wink] a Xbox 360 and The playstation 3.

I would have bought both the Xbox one and the playstation 4 but Microsoft shot themselves in the foot as far as they cared for there core gamers as I have said during numerous posts.

GTA5 would have to be absolutely mind blowing online for me to consider keeping the playstation 3, and it would have to be confirmed by Rockstar that it will be a long time coming to Playstation 4 and I don't see this happening.

I have literally played The Last of us to death but couldn't really get into the online side of the game as I only take to a small number which are mainly games like Killzone which I would say the majority of my online ventures has been.

There is little point hanging on to the playstation 3 because I know that once Watchdogs ,Killzone Shadowfall and Battlefield 4 turn up on my doorstep I won't be wanting to play GTA 5 unless its completly mind blowing.

As good as its going to be we will have been playing it for a couple of months before next gen lands, normally within a few weeks I get bored with quite a fair few games so I'm thinking after 2 months I will be ready to move on,besides this will be on a Playstation 4 within 3 months of launch Guranteed .

As good and brilliant The Last Of Us is its basically now just sitting there ,finished the single player twice and spent a couple of hours online but haven't touched it for about 3 weeks and buy the time I would like to revisit it I bet this is on a Playstaion 4 also.

Nothing like getting a little back for games you have finished or did not like.....buy a full price game say £39.99 take it back within about a month and you get £25 for it so the cost of the new one is £15 ....makes perfect sense to me and I get to play a lot of games wink

Don't know if I'm more hyped up for this than i was for the Last Of Us.

See in truth im not a big fan of open ended massive games on this scale with so much to do and see,but its Rockstar and its GTA so you kind of have to blend in and go with the flow, besides i adored Red Dead Redemption and i just love the way they have fantastic characters and great dialogue with top notch voice acting and brilliant cut scenes and action a plenty.

There was an online mode for GTA4, although they made it rather... difficult... to access, as though it was a secondary consideration.

Hopefully it is easier to access in GTA 5, but its not a game I'm particularly interested in - I absolutely loathed vehicle control in GTA 4 - was far too consoley...

Saints Row,Gta they have never really mastered the art of car control or vehicle control for that matter, but GTA has far much more scope and appeal than most of these similar rip offs on the market.

GTA will look crisp, sharp and have some nice graphics where saints row looks like a Playstation 1 game, yeah i know its not all about graphics but it sure helps to get you more immersed in the world when they are half decent.

The best sandbox/open world game I have played this gen is Sleeping Dogs, I just loved that game. The Hong Kong setting was so refreshing, story really good and the combat very satisfying once you mastered it. I know it's a newer game but I enjoyed it much more than GTA 4.

Get away with you, don't tell me you are not going to pick up possibly the best game of the year if not this generation.

Its going to be massive mate regardless of what i have to say about it,I'm not overly keen on open ended sandbox game but i know a class game when i see one and this will be massive and tide me over nicely until P4.

Saying that Red Dead Redemption was a sandbox game with a massive world to explore and that was one of my all time favourite games and i could not get enough of it.

FPS is my favourite thats why I'm so looking forward to Killzone Shadowfall and also Infamous Second Son next year as sadly this title has slipped past Original launch game.

Also Watchdogs looks like something special along with that Game Swanny keeps raving on about..........Whats it called now............Something Field me thinks.tongue

Would not surprise me in the slightest,I notice a lot of publishers are doing deals on games released before the next generation consoles arrive.

Pay and extra £10 and upgrade to the Playstation 4 or Xbox one versions if you bought them on playstation 3 or 360.

So many games coming just before the console releases, but even Timey will resist the temptation to buy Battlefield 4 ,Cod Ghosts,Watchdogs before November 29 th.

then I will never buy the game, I may be against the trend but I dont buy games on good reviews alone. I need to play it first. I have played games with great reviews and they have been trash, and played games with poor reviews and they have been good. This shows that there is the personal taste of the reviewers to take into account and the bias as well.

Is it even possible to have a demo of a game like GTA 5 ? I would think the only way is to download the whole game and have a time limit, the game is 17 GB.

Only you are missing out. Fair enough you may not trust some of the review sites but how about when you have 500+ user reviews saying a game is brilliant?

Reviews are as good as expected, 10/10 from IGN and Meta score of 97 based on 21 reviews.

IGN review here

IGN Verdict

Grand Theft Auto V is not only a preposterously enjoyable video game, but also an intelligent and sharp-tongued satire of contemporary America. It represents a refinement of everything that GTA IV brought to the table five years ago. Its technically more accomplished in every conceivable way, but its also tremendously ambitious in its own right. No other world in video games comes close to this in size or scope, and there is sharp intelligence behind its sense of humour and gift for mayhem. It tells a compelling, unpredictable, and provocative story without ever letting it get in the way of your own self-directed adventures through San Andreas.

It is one of the very best video games ever made

If I really like the look of a game I'll always buy it on release. I'll bargain bin it when boredom buying, but I think 40 quid for games like the TLOS and the Uncharted series is a bargain. It's 12 quid to go to the cinema for 90 minutes nowadays. If it weren't for early adopters there wouldn't be anything for you pikeys bargain hunters, so I wouldn't knock it too much. tongue

On the flip side if everyone bought games on release day there wouldn't be anyone to sell them to after. It seems many gamers who buy release day play the game then trade it and buy another. If you want to truly support the gaming industry you shouldn't sell the games after playing them wink

This isn't a chicken and egg situation. If nobody bought games new, they would either not make them or charge more, simple economics. It's fine being shrewd and waiting for a bargain, but don't bite the hand that feeds you.

I fitted a plasma telly nearly 10 years ago or thereabouts (32" I think), for a customer who paid 12 grand for it. Many would say he was an idiot, but if he and many like him hadn't of done so, your telly would still be two feet closer to your two feet!

Factories don't make second hand stuff Swanny. It is simple economics so I'm not sure what point you are trying to make. However pleased with yourself you are when you've picked up a bargain, you still needed someone else to buy it first. confused

You seem to be likening gaming to must have purchasers with their new iPhones and 50" TV's, but it's not the same thing at all. Games, like movies, are an experience. You 'experience' it and move onto the next one.

Yes I know someone has to buy games new or there won't be any for sale second hand. But also it is true that for many (not all) people the only way they are able to afford to buy lots of games on release day is because they are able to to sell/trade them afterwards, take this away and the number of games they could buy would reduce. So in a way second hand sales do actually help the gaming industry indirectly. Also shops, ebay etc all benefit.

You may be thinking I buy lots of second hand games but in fact I have only bought 2 for PS3. I do also buy full priced ones but not that often, I generally wait until they are under £30.

I don't buy second hand games I just buy them when the price has dropped. Places like game rip you off by charging almost new price for their second hand games.
If one of the supermarkets is selling gtav cheap today then I will buy it.
The developers probably still get the same amount for each copy that sells whether or not the price in the shop is high or low. The shops decide what mark up they add.
All it means is I play my games a bit later than most people.

Well i did some of the story missions and now I'm slightly confused as i don't seem to have any missions on the map but a lot of other icons like gunshops,Golf,Tennis ect.

So for the past few hours i just been wandering around not really doing a awful lot,not used to playing this type of game but its a brilliant game even though i have done very little and seen nothing.

have 2 character playable at present Franklin and Michael but when i switch between the two there is no mission objectives to be seen on the map, more than likely got to go somewhere or trigger some event.

Installing now.

I had a look in the shops to see how much it's selling for.

HMV £47
Game £45

There was a big queue of people buying it in Game, one of the shop assistance was trying to get them to take out a guarantee against disc damage for another £1. She was telling people that they wouldn't be able to get hold of another copy for weeks if they damaged theirs, she obviously hasn't been to any of the supermarkets

What a rip off that shop is

I must be doing something wrong as I can not seem to get any story mission progress past mission 4 ,there is nothing on my map that indicates any pointers towards any mission, done the ? Missions and visited shops, played around of golf and tennis, went to another end of the map took a cable car, jumped on a trials motorbike and drove of the top of a mountain....guess what happened next.

Yep I was walking out of a hospital, have switched between the 2 present charectors but still no story mission......Must be me been totally Thick [dont answer that swanny] or I'm completly missing what I'm looking for.

No you don't! just think of that nice hairdo and beard combination. Does TLOU have that? No. Of course it doesn't.

Yeah, there's an iPhone app I read about for looking after some mutt which is actually meant to interact with the main game whereby the dog becomes more responsive and useful to you if it's well treated. Shame there's no android version just yet. But there's gonna be a huge downloadable game manual in app form for both platforms with a nice interactive map so that's cool.

Still on the fence about getting a PS3 to play GTA 5. I know it'd be foolish really (what with the PS4 coming soon) but I am seriously tempted by that special offer Timey linked to as I'd love to play RDR. I'm certain GTA V will make its way to the next gen and reckon there's a decent chance TLOU will do also, even if it's download only.

That's dogging in a whole other way. You can actually play as the dog? Weird. Dog's eye view eh? Sounds disgusting... wink

One of the great things about GTA is all the little in-games and effort needed to master stunts and vehicles. I remember how frustrating it was controlling the planes in San Andreas, and that coming from someone who had spent ages learning to fly in BF1942/BF2 so should've been better. But once you've got the knack it's very rewarding.

Not sure about mastering the dog but it might be nice to bite a few people. grin

The first few missions are just getting you into the game, then it really opens up! Wait until you do your first heist if you haven't already, it's brilliant getting a crew together and deciding which way to take it, stealthy or straight through the front door with shotguns wink

Some really nice new gameplay elements in it compared to the other games. I really like what they have done with escaping from the police, very Metal Gear Solid with the cones of view and having to go down alleys, into driveways etc. Slow motion driving with Franklin is fun too laugh

a demo doesnt usually require significant resources, its normally just something thats already been developed and used for testing in house, and then released as a demo. Games are typically developed in pieces and then those pieces are put together for the full game, so a demo would just typically be one of those pieces on its own.

The alternative is to supply the full game but with a time restriction.

I think its more to do with arrogance and wanting people to buy blind, most released videos tend to show very limited gameplay, they usually cutscene focused and when they do show gameplay its in short bursts jumping around so hard to get a grip of what the game is like. My guess at some point a business decision has been made that showing gameplay or allowing gameplay prior to purchase loses sales so its no longer common practice. They dont care if someone hates the game after buying it as at that point they have your cash. This when tied in with retailer exclusive pre order bonuses probably has a huge impact on sales. As people are pressured to buying the game before launch meaning they cant see others play it on youtube etc, get friend's opinions etc. to get that pre order bonus. Notice also how those reviewing the game officially ign etc. get the game before launch but are not allowed to release their reviews early.

When a game like GTA arrives there is no need for a demo and people know what they are buying and if its there cup of tea,the hype alone for games like this and The last of us and many more such as Battlefield and Cod games developers need not release a demo.

And to be honest for a game the size of GTA5 i don't think a demo would do the game any favours or justice.

Most games are bought on either hype, previews and final reviews ,how else can you see if the game is for you without such media press releases.

So you just buy a game then do you and take no notice of reviews, videos, you just know its going to be for you without any media influence.

You can join us online if you like mate, there are 6 of us at the moment who have the game and are eagerly awaiting multiplayer functionality.

I don't think you could say buying GTA is based on hype, look at the reviews it has got they are absolutely staggering. Any gamer worth his salt should give it a shot for at least an hour or two, although I do not think the theme would suit everyone as there is a lot of adult content.

I am not most people.

Most gamers are kids, they were not used to what we had in the 90s which was a different standard.

I dont just buy games when there is no demo or gameplay footage full stop if I Can help it. There is a few exceptions, eg. I will buy jrpg games but I will point out ff13-2 my purchased was pushed forward probably by several months because I stumbled across the demo on xbox live and it got me hooked otherwis eI probably would have got that game several months later. I have brought probably 4-5 games in the past 12 months I consider rubbish (even some jrpgs), the lack of a playable demo allows rubbish games to get sales.

tales of xillia I am actually dissapointed with, brought it without seeing gameplay footage or playing a demo, I brought it based on how good vesperia is, a mistake.

when I say gameplay footage I mean watching someone play a game for a decent period of time, probably at least 30 mins, not some short promotional clip.

reviews can point out things but they rarely completely honest. you dont bite the hand that feeds you. Amusingly gamers tried to get a reviewer sacked for not giving gta5 a 10/10, so seems young gamers now days actually expect bias in reviews. Also reviews tend to spend too much focus on things that arent that important to me such as graphics.

Getting well into it now and on my way to the first bank Heist, not started the mission yet but have not chosen the all guns blazing option but the silent approach........Must be getting old.

Had a Lap dance tonight and took the dancer home....I wont say what happens ....lets just say it's the best 10 seconds she's ever had.tongue

Had plenty of cops chasing me after a gangster set up and shoot out, game is growing on me even more and its the world map is just colossal with so much to do and see and thats forgetting the story mission, you could lose hours and hours just doing other stuff...I love trying for the medals at the shooting range with the various weapons on offer, only managed bronze and silver as the shooting is pretty tough going on the targets.

Yeah, I agree the store manager fell far short and seemed to have been deliberately winding the guy up. We don't see the early part of the situation but she failed for all sorts of reasons and chiefly, in my view, she should have forbade the guy videoing the situation from using his camera. To me that's harassment and very serious though the whole thing was a storm in tea cup and should not have resulted in millions of posts like this from around the globe. Funny eh? Good way to make some money if you could gain from it (Facebook and Youtube and zillions of public news websites are getting more hits).

There's a better cooler headed summary over here at The Escapist

It somewhat surprises me some people are very critical of the customer, tho I suppose it's maybe a lesson we should not take things too personally in life sometimes - I don't doubt the store manager was rude and obnoxious throughout just judging by her body language and rapport with the other customers. I'd give her a stern warning if I was her boss but a sacking because of this one incident would not be justified in my view (not that my opinion has any kind of weight). But hey, who loves ya Spooky baby? [Gives self hug] tongue

Im thinking its going to take me at least 2 months to finish this single player game playing it every couple of days 2/3 hours at a time.

tonight i spent 3 hours doing nothing really but blowing stuff up,car jacking, taking in the drop dead gorgeous sites and at the end of all that i done one single mission, and that took about 6 attempts .

I have never seen an area so vast and with so much to do,i mean you can get a fancy haircut, have some mighty fine tattoos ,pick up a Hooker, play golf,Play tennis,Challenge people to races, play on the shooting range[spent 1 hour doing that alone] go hunt some animals...[red dead style] the list is endless .

Im surprised they even managed to finish all this in 5 years if im honest, one hell of a game though and some mighty fine characters and brilliant set pieces and its really so well polished.

Welcome to GTA! Leave your life at the door and enter a new world where - just about - anything goes. That's the beauty of the GTA series and sandbox gaming as I see it, do what you want when you want and take it at your own pace.

GTA San Andreas (before GTA IV) was the best GTA game I played and I've replayed that several times and you just do all sorts of crazy antics and yeah, some missions are devilishly hard and require many attempts to crack. Sometimes they're not as well devised as they could be (well often not). That can be a bit of a chore but it's always worth pursuing in the end as the main story is too good to leave.

Dunno about the console version but there used to be cool mods you could get on the PC and cheats that allowed you to turn on flying cars and such like. GIVEMEATANK was one cheat you could type at any time in GTA III and you could go on a rampage. Rockstar seem to think of everything and know their gaming: it's all about fun at the end of the day.

Good to know you're enjoying yourself Timey.

thats my view also, asking someone who looks 40 (or at the very least 30) for ID to buy a game is petty, especially when they insisted its photo ID as the business card was rejected.

Apparently its normal in america to need photo ID to preorder games O_o

Very Easy Money (Exploit)

In the ocean near the north side of the map, you can check underwater to find a crashed airplane. When the airplane crashed, a briefcase full of money (around $12,000) also found its way to the sea bed. You can swim to find the wreckage and the briefcase. After you collect that briefcase, you can then immediately switch to another character and then switch back to the one who was located near the briefcase. When you do, the briefcase will have reappeared. The character who is underwater will collect the case again and his supply of air will return. You can repeatedly use this trick to quickly amass a small fortune.

ID was required to prove the guy was who he'd said he was and not some other dude picking up another customer's preorder. Photo ID offers better proof than a business card that anybody can fake. But, of course, it's pretty unlikely in most instances that someone would know so-and-so has preordered (and paid) for a game already. At least that's the assumption I'm making that this guy already paid for the game (online/what have you). Otherwise it seems pretty petty if all they're saying is it's to protect the allocation of pre-ordered games from people who've just turned up and are trying to imitate some other bod just so they can get a copy they still need to pay for. Else I think it's not such a big ask really; I'm sure it wasn't to prove the guy's age but if it was, what a compliment! tongue

Haha. That kind of photography would be great. tongue

I dunno why but I've always liked photography. I had a little toy camera when I was young and have always taken pictures.

In an ideal world I'd be a well paid portrait (movie stars, sexy women) and/or nature photographer. I am more of a dreamer than a do-er. I like to think one day I'll do something good with the gear I've got. Also, it kind of feels like an investment as hopefully the lenses I've got will continue to be serviceable till I'm as old as you, my friend. smile

None of my pictures are very good if truth be told. All of them are very mediocre, even the goodish ones fall well short of spectacular. I guess you've got to be someplace doing something interesting if ya wanna get a good shot rather than spending half your life indoors. Countryfile will have to wait till I get out into the um... outdoors. My shot idea would be nekid lady with sheep fleece loosely draped over her with the sheared sheep behind her. Baa. In reply to a post by SPOOKish:
Oh ho. Why's that then? Is it the graphics or something else?
I can live with the graphics, even though it's really not as easy on the eye as I expected (and that's being polite). The character models are seriously all elbows at times, if you know what I mean. I actually believe Saints Row 2 looked better in places. I know it's a massive playable area, but I would have preferred a lot less, a lot more polished. I also don't like the control mechanic. Try fighting on the stairs for example. They'll hit you but you wont be able to hit them. And holding 'X' to run is irritating and unnecessary from a consoler's point of view. It feels particularly clumsy but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Another stupid idea was for the instructions to appear in the top left hand corner of the screen whilst driving. In a chase with the police I had to keep pausing and looking through the menu to find where it saves the recent on screen notifications. If you play it SPOOK you will see how trying to read the instructions in the top corner and escape the chasing police at the same time, while not impossible, does seriously detract from the gameplay. Perhaps if you've played the GTA series before (which for the record I haven't) or don't care for instructions, then it's a non issue, but I found it dissapointing none the less.

Also, the script from the beginning with Franklin and Lamar is verbally overplayed. Every other word is nigg*r or mutha [censored] and that's not an exaggeration. It started to grind on me very quickly. Imagine Quentin Tarrantino being allowed to write Will Smith's part in Bad Boys and you won't be far off. I can't wait to be able to swap to Michael.

I am going to persevere though, even if I think it has been overhyped on reputation somewhat.

[re: astateoftrance] [link to this post]

On the subject of GTA 5 coming to next gen I'm thinking only the multiplayer part of it will. If you notice Rockstar call the multiplayer part GTA Online rather than GTA 5 multiplayer, so they are distinguishing between the two. So in a way they could say that GTA 5 isn't coming to next gen but GTA Online is.

GTA Online has to be on next gen anyway otherwise their vision of a ever expanding world will not work.

If it comes to PS4 and PC this will be awesome, but it struggles on current gen.

I'm enjoying it more now as I've given up on the missions and am just doing my own thing. I just stole a tractor and drove up towards the cable car. Halfway there I ran over a mountain biker and stole his bike. There are some excellent downhill trails up there. Anyway, I rode the bike right up to the cable car, found a motocross bike, rode that into the cable car and then brought it back down with me. I know it would have been more fun to ride it down, but I was hoping to ride it out of the cable car halfway down, but it wouldn't let me! frown

For me, it is far easier on the eye when you get out of the city.

[re: mrnelster] [link to this post]

I've played all the GTA games since GTA III. They have more than their fair share of irks and faults but, as the scope's so massive, they are or have been regarded as somewhat forgivable. This includes awful character movement and shooting (especially on PC), poor car handling and for GTA San Andreas especially, poor graphics compared to the status quo back then.

But, as you've said there's plenty to do and some very enjoyable activities and scenery. I'm a little surprised that some have found the graphics lacking, I was kinda expecting it for the Xbox 360 and thinking the PS3 would be a shade better and always felt the game would come out on the next gen consoles but astateoftrance has a good comment that maybe the game will shift to an online mmo type version next gen, some kind of fudge so Rockstar can say it's a new game.

Having not long seen Tarantino's Django I know what you mean about overuse of the 'n' word. Yeah, I like QT a lot for his direction and style of photography but he seems to have a fixation on violence and strong language; he always feels he needs to ramp them up to the max and beyond. GTA San Andreas was heavily criticised for stereotyping black people and 'ghetto life'. GTA V is essentially a reworking of GTA SA in many respects. Though I've read Franklin's character gets reluctantly drawn into crime I was a bit depressed Rockstar are continuing to run with the meme though I'm sure they're not unaware that not all black people are gangsta rappers.

So, you haven't played as Trevour yet then? tongue

I have not played GTA 5 yet but this quote from Rockstar might explain some of the stereotypes/exaggerations in the game

"What GTA does is it actually take the American culture as we understand it from movies - it's every gangster movie, it's every crime caper. It uses that, but keeps it very grounded with a British sensibility.

"This is a very large part of the influence of Rockstar North, based in Edinburgh - there's a tongue-in-cheek streak running throughout. That's something that people tend to miss."

From this BBC article

Really enjoyed Django BTW, the violence is way over the top in parts but so much so that it actually made me laugh smile

Yeah, I read that article (and prob linked to it too here!) a little while ago mate. Rockstar are notorious for tongue in cheek style and a lot of their joke names for businesses and suchlike are really funny and irreverent. I don't feel that's the point mrnelster was driving at. Just an annoyance of constant blah blah blahing, mofo this and mofo that. It can be a bit much at times. Though I might have the wrong end of the stick and you are entirely correct that's where the problem lies. Haven't played V yet either but I remember SA well enough (some of the dialogue was a bit tedious but overall v good compared to everything else). Anyway...

I've only watched Django once but I was really enjoying the film up until (and not meaning to give any spoilers) they are at the dinner table (you will know the part I mean) later in the film when all hell breaks loose. I felt there was a big disconnect there really but then, I wasn't massively keen on Inglourious B^sterds the first time (a bit too stagey and overly theatrical) but have since come to love it completely, so expect that part of the film will grow on me too (the gun fight was a bit mental).

Listening to the story unfold are some of the best parts in the game, not that i understand what the heck is going down or on in the first place.

I get the feeling that yourself and mrnelster are far from impressed with the game and wandered if you had ever played previous versions of GTA as you new what should be expected.

My only gripe with the game and this may sound daft is the game world is so massive there is just far to much to see and do and you can virtually spend a evening playing the game and achieving very little.

Ratings dont Lie

Just not your type of game mate wink

Im not blown away by massive open world games but its GTA and i new what to expect,if anything its the amount you can do thats puts me of as there is just to much.

Ive spent about 10 hours on it and have done like 9% and i know in my own mind i doubt that come around November time i will have completed it and more than likely is a game i would trade at some point even though i think its brilliant in its own GTA unique way.

I agree with the points you raised about the instructions being in the top left, that really annoyed me in my first chase when trying to learn about the special abilities and also about it looking a bit blurred when you drive fast, it kind of looks jerky. Still love the game though, I think Michael is my favourite character to play as closely followed by Trevor because he is an asbolute maniac.

GTA is GTA and did i expect anything else,i have not been a avid fan of the series and only ever bought GTA4 before this one and i didn't have the time or the patience to finish that game, this been in the region of 3 times the size of that game and red dead redemption and San Andreas all put together its not going to be a game i will finish or keep for that matter.

Ive even just deleted my save as I'm that confused by it all and have made some wrong choices in buying of properties that I'm going to try and start over from the beginning having played for only 10 hours and doing and achieving nothing.

Would have preferred a one character experience and I'm not blown away of having to switch between the 3 of them and then working out what I'm suppose to do next, can not see me wanting to keep this come November when the Playstation 4 ships, even the multiplayer would have to be outstanding and i don't think i will be giving that to much time because apart from the original Cod game MW4 and Battlefield most of these multiplayer games seem tacked on and not very good, even The Last of Us i thought was decent for about 2 hours and soon tired with that along with Tomb raider,Far Cry 3 and to many more to mention.

Im not even sure how GTA online is even going to work.

I think the swapping between characters is a really awesome feature, I usually just do one mission on each of them at a time then move onto the next. Why did you delete your save? You can't really make a bad decision on property, you either own it or you don't. Money is really easy to get in the game as you progress so can't see why you would delete 10 hours of time just for that?

I generally do daft things like delete a game save and start all over when i think a game is something special,to be honest Jaxx i don't know why either as buying a certain property is not really affecting how the game pans out is it?.

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying this game is not great because it is,just its not really the type of game i want to spend hours and hours playing if the truth be known.

its the posh version of saints row and i hated that game but kind of like GTA in its own little way but it don't get me excited in the same way as a Good FPS or a game like The Last of Us.

When the Last of Us shipped i found myself itching to stick it on all the time and play some more and whenever possible,gta5 i haven't touched since last Thursday and preferred to watch tv and films the weekend rather than play this and that tells me something.

I know for a fact once i get my grubby hands on the playstation 4 and Battlefield 4,Watchdogs,Killzone Shadowfall i will be playing night after night week after week, but for know GTA 5 is not really holding my attention and to be quite honest with you could easily be traded but i will keep it hoping the online is something unique.

Besides there is little out now until next gen arrives so i will persevere with the game and hope after many hours the game really grows on me,very few games seem to hold my attention this year and only one game has raised the bar and we know what that was.

let me ask you about missions why we are on the subject,if you look at the characters you see how many mission they have each by the side of there names, now when i switch to a certain Character i dont see the mission on the map,so am i right in guessing that i have to return to there homes to start the character mission or am i missing something.

It's probably a Freaks and Strangers mission, you know the one that is a little question mark? They tend to be a lot smaller on the map so you won't see them as easily and sometimes they can be in random places. Like Franklin has one in the North East Desert, Trevor has one in the North West. Just scour the map for that little question mark that is in their respective colour (Green for Franklin, Blue for Michael, Orange for Trevor).

I think the online play will be really good, I agree with these kind of games usually it is not that great like Red Dead and Max Payne was a failure. But if they can nail the heist missions online then I think they are really onto something, it will be everything Payday 2 should have been smile

Yeah I'm still enjoying it, but if it comes to PS4 the online co op mode will be a blast, and hopefully a lot more defined visually. Then I could really imagine it becoming addictive. smile

I'm enjoying playing as Michael right now, but I know exactly where Timey is coming from. Sometimes it's really not obvious where it wants you to go next.

If you are a fan of the GTA games then this is a essential purchase,if like me you buy them because they have outstanding budgets and eye watering review scores then thats another story.

The game is amazing even if I'm not totally blown away i can see what GTA fans of the series love about it,its hard for me to put into words how i feel about this game, one minute i love it and the next i want to switch it of a watch TV instead having wasted several hours accomplishing zero but for may be one mission.

So in my case because of the size and scope of the game and the vast map area to me there is just to much crammed into the map and to much to do,most of the stuff is probably pointless but you can not refrain yourself from having a fancy haircut or a nice tattoo,or in mrnelster case spending most of his evening in the lap dancer clubs with a boner.blush.

I know i should not be grumbling on about how much there is in the game and how much there is to do,but in some case more is not always the best way to go and 50 hour games are things i never complete apart from Zelda of old and that wasn't 50 hours but close.

Funny thing is i deleted my game save having played for about 10/12 hours and started again, only this time i am enjoying it more even though i know whats coming.

You can play GTA pretty much how you want, nobody's forcing you to spend all your time in those lapdance bars and tattoo parlours. wink

Personally, I like aimless driving and flying around, even if the gfx aren't exactly photo-realistic like GTA SA.

You can still lose yourself in the environment and it's nice form of escapism.

My phone shattered today when it dropped less than 2ft onto the floor - alarm vibrated - so my nice Nexus 4's gotta be replaced before I can consider getting a console. I'm using my very old ZTE Blade phone and that's sluggish as hell. Shame Google decided to go with so much glass. Don't they know it shatters? this is what mine looks like. Unusable now. frown

Maybe time for iFruit? Google are getting far too nosy and intrusive these days for my liking. crazy

As we know for different people they use different kinds of mobile phone signals. Just as the people around you like your friends, your colleagues, your family members and so on, they may use the different mobile phone signals as now there are various mobile phone signals from different companies and of which the frequency bands are also different such as the CDMA, GSM, DCS, PCS, 3G, 4G LTE and 4G Wimax. So in different conditions and circumstances people are in need of the phone jammers that of different frequency bands. But if people are in great need of a phone jammer via which they can decide the jamming frequency bands what kind of device should they choose? Of course, the adjustable phone jammer is the best for them in such condition.
